Unforgettable experience and a well-deserved Michelin Star

On 12 December, Michelin has presented the Michelin Guide 2017 in the DeLaMar Theatre. In honour of their hard work, top restaurants and chefs of The Netherlands were awarded their Michelin Stars on this special day.

For the second consecutive year Hotelschool The Hague was sponsoring the Michelin event where 49 Hotelschool students were working hard on smooth running operations and delivering an unforgettable experience to some of the best chefs and food enthusiasts of the country.

During the ceremony Joris Bijdendijk executive chef of restaurant Rijks, and Hotelschool The Hague alumnus received his first well-deserved Michelin Star. “It’s a dream come true! I’m incredibly proud that a restaurant with 130 seats, which is open seven days a week and approachable to anyone received a star!” – said Joris after receiving his very own Michelin Chef’s jacket and Guide.

The new Michelin Guide revealed 106 Michelin Star restaurants in The Netherlands, including the top two three star restaurants: De Librije in Zwolle and De Leest in Vaassen.

New one Michelin Star restaurants in the Netherlands:

  • Bolenius in Amsterdam
  • MOS in Amsterdam
  • Rijks in Amsterdam
  • Noble in Den Bosch
  • Cucina del Mondo in Heerlen

New two Michelin Star restaurant in the Netherlands:

  • Tribeca in Heeze

After the festive ceremony the audience was invited to enjoy a culinary lunch prepared by 13 top restaurants such as Ciel Bleu, Bord’Eau and Aan De Poel.
