Hotelschool The Hague has been granted an Erasmus + EU grant as part of a consortium consisting of 3 European partner universities (Hotelschool The Hague; Ghent University, Belgium and Tampere University, Finland) and 5 Indonesian universities (Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, UNPAR; Universitas Bina Nusantara, BINUS; Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, UPM; Universitas Ma Chung, UMC and Universitas Pembangunan Jaya, UPJ) for a project application called “Resolving A Societal Challenge: Interdisciplinary Approach Towards Fostering Collaborative Innovation in Food Waste Management”.

Out of 1005 applications with an acceptance rate of 16%, the committee awarded the application with a ‘good’ and funding possibilities to up to Euro 835’400. The project aims to develop an interdisciplinary 21st century skills curricula at Indonesian partner universities which increases students’ awareness on global societal challenges (and specifically food waste) and involve them to take part and contribute to societal problem solving throughout their curriculum. It is due to start in January 2021 and will be executed over a period of 3 years from the Research Centre in close co-operation with the F&B department. This project further aligns seamlessly with HTH’s strategic objective to actively contribute to the UN SDGs and through our global network, create hospitable futures together.
