House of Hospitality: Special Guest - The Mayor of The Hague
- 2 min read
Mayor of The Hague, Ms Pauline Krikke, visited House of Hospitality, which is the collaborative city hospitality platform. During her extensive visit, views and ideas were shared regarding The Hague, being a top hospitable city and how to enhance its position.
Karoline Wiegerink and Jan Huizing represented Hotelschool The Hague, together with students Karlijn van der Drift and Inge Ringeling. Other members of the collaborative city hospitality platform, the so called ‘hospitality makers’, are:
- Sjoerd Sybesma, General Manager Hilton The Hague;
- Ryan Spencer, Kijkduin Beach Resort;
- Anil Soekhoe, Owner of Hop & Stork;
- July Patoir and Karien Klinkenberg, Marketing The Hague;
- Ad Dekkers, City Centre Bureau;
- Hans Doets, Manager Tourist Information.
Each member is a linking pin and interacts with their respective professional network. This way, knowledge and inspiration is shared and concrete projects can move forward. Projects vary from research and product development (e.g. National City Hospitality Monitor), training and tools (e.g. Hospitality Toolkit), to storytelling and sharing inspiration (e.g. Kijkje in de Keuken at Hilton, Madurodam, Bijenkorf, etc.).
Welcoming Mayor Krikke was a great boost to the ambitions of House of Hospitality. Throughout the meeting it became apparent that further improving the hospitality of the city of The Hague is a shared vision among the platform’s members and the Mayor herself. Which is not only beneficial for hotels and retail, but also for its citizens. Hospitality stimulates the dynamic atmosphere in the city, which is interesting for people visiting The Hague and for people living in The Hague. We are looking forward to working together in realising these dreams in the future!
