Rik Farenhorst new member of Board of Trustees Hotelschool The Hague

Hotelschool The Hague is proud to announce that effective of 1st of July 2019, Rik Farenhorst has been appointed member of the Board of Trustees. In his position Farenhorst will complement the skills and knowledge within the Board of Trustees in the light of strategic ambitions on digital transformation, set in the Institutional Plan.

Wolfgang Neumann, Chairman of the Board of Trustees: “In pursuit of our clearly defined strategy, the Board of Trustees has decided to expand the supervisory expertise in digital transformation and to complement the broad mix of skills in our team. We are delighted to welcome Rik to Hotelschool The Hague and look forward to build on his extensive knowledge”.

Farenhorst is currently CIO of Transavia. Here he drives the digital transformation and cultural change required to create as much value as possible with IT for both Transavia's passengers and its employees. In addition, Rik is chairman of the DevOps Agile Skills Association (DASA) Enterprise Leadership Forum. The forum is a global platform that fosters knowledge sharing and awareness on how to build high performance digital organisations. Rik is also a board member of the Dutch CIO platform, where he focusses on improving the digital and organisational transformation, which is a prominent topic for most of the 120+ member organisations.

Farenhorst studied Computer Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, where he obtained his PhD in Software Engineering.
